If I was a parent, and my kid got asked to go camping in fierce and dangerous woods with no adult supervision, immediately I would say "no!" But that's not what happened in my book "Tomorrow, When the War Began" by John Marsden. All of the kids parents in my book said it was okay to go into a place they called "Hell." I don't get that part of the book, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't happen in real life. Maybe some of the kids parents would say "yes", but most parents would say absolutely not.
John Marsden wrote that the forest had wild animals (ex. wolves), dangerous land forms, and a possible ex-muderer. I think that the author described the scenery very well, almost every paragraph is a descriptive paragraph. I know how everything looks in the book and I think John Marsden is a fabulous author. The only thing that I would request is that he makes his books more interesting.
